Privacy.
We collect what an order needs and nothing for advertising. This page says exactly what that is.
Effective September 17, 2026.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address and shipping address, entered on Stripe’s checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see or store them.
- When you ask to be notified: the email address you enter, and the scent you chose.
- When you write to us: what you put in the contact form, which is sent to us by email.
- Your bag: the items you add are kept in your own browser’s local storage. They are sent to our checkout service when you check out. If you allow optional analytics, interactions with your bag may also be recorded.
Optional analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics” in Privacy settings in the footer. There is no automatic consent popup, and your choice does not affect shopping or checkout. We store your preference in this browser for up to six months.
Optional analytics and cookies
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 measures visits, public page views, device and browser types, approximate country, product views, bag changes, checkout starts and verified purchases. It uses first-party _ga cookies and a pseudonymous browser identifier. We send public product identifiers, quantities and purchase totals, but no names, email addresses, shipping addresses, payment details or checkout session tokens. Google processes network and device information to provide these reports. Advertising storage, Google signals, ad personalization and remarketing are disabled.
Purchase measurement uses a Stripe-verified completed live payment and a pseudonymous transaction key to prevent duplicates. Google receives a generic order-complete page address, never the checkout URL. Session recording remains disabled on order pages. Payments that are still processing, test payments, and purchases where the visitor does not return or does not allow analytics are not measured. This reporting is not a complete accounting record.
With your permission, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our shop through session recordings, heatmaps and product and bag interactions. Clarity receives usage and device information, including page visits, clicks, scrolling, browser details and IP address. Clarity can set first-party analytics cookies such as _clck and _clsk to connect visits. We deny advertising storage and do not send customer names, email addresses or order identifiers as custom events.
We mask page text and form content, exclude contact, checkout and order confirmation pages, and do not start recording pages with query strings or URL fragments. Recordings and heatmaps represent only visitors who opt in on eligible pages, not all customers.
Use Privacy settings in the footer to allow analytics or turn it off at any time. Turning it off refreshes the page, stops future recording and clears Clarity’s and Google Analytics’ first-party cookies. It does not delete information already collected. Your bag is kept. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Google’s Privacy Policy for how these services process information, and contact us with privacy requests.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe
- Payment, checkout and the order record.
- Shippo
- Shipping labels and tracking. Receives your name and shipping address.
- Resend
- The emails we send you: confirmation, tracking, delivery.
- Google Analytics
- Optional visitor and shopping analytics, only after your permission.
- Microsoft Clarity
- Optional shop usage analytics, only after your permission.
- Vercel
- Hosts the site and keeps short-lived server logs.
Each of these handles your information under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose named. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics user and event retention is set to two months, without extending it on new activity. Aggregated reports may be retained longer. Analytics consent and cookie lifetimes are limited to about six months. We keep a limited list of pseudonymous purchase markers in your browser to prevent duplicate reporting; turning analytics off clears these markers.
Order records stay in Stripe for as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally seven years. Notify-me addresses are kept until the scent launches and you have been written to once, or until you ask us to remove them. Contact messages are kept in our inbox until the matter is closed. Your bag stays in your browser until you clear it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under the CCPA and CPRA, along with the right to know whether information is sold or shared (it is not) and the right not to be treated differently for asking. We will answer within 45 days and will not ask you to pay.
To use any of these rights, write to hello@houseofseaaura.com from the email address you used with us.
